Two killed, six injured in separate crashes


Two persons were killed and six others injured in separate motor vehicle collisions in Kingston and St Ann yesterday.


In the first incident, Tashy-Ann Myers, 27, of Kingslyn Avenue, Kingston 10, died from injuries in a motor vehicle collision on Old Hope Road, Kingston 6. Two other persons were injured in the incident.


The Stadium Gardens police said about 3:30 a.m., Myers was driving a Toyota Yaris, with two passengers along Old Hope Road, when upon reaching the intersection with Lady Musgrave Road, she reportedly lost control of the vehicle and crashed into the embankment.

All three persons were taken to hospital, where Myers died while being treated. The others were treated and released.


In the other incident, a few hours later, Simon Davidson of Exchange district, St Ann, died on the Minard main road in the parish.


Reports from the Browns Town police are that about 8 a.m., a Toyota Corolla motor car in which he and four others were travelling, collided with an Isuzu NPR motor truck. the collision resulted in the five occupants of the car being injured.


The police were alerted and they were taken to hospital where Davidson was pronounced dead. The other four were admitted in critical condition, while the driver of the motor truck was unhurt.
