A Rastafarian man from the Cockpit Country Maroon sect, who is accused of stealing an assortment of items, was granted bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
He is Owen Francis, who pleaded not guilty to simple larceny.
Allegations are that Francis entered into an arrangement with the complainant to start a radio station at a premises on Tower Street in Kingston, when business went sour.

Francis and the complainant had a disagreement regarding the apportioning of funds and payment when it was alleged that Francis took matters into his own hands, capturing a number of items.
It was alleged that on March 24, the accused took possession of an HP high-gloss scanner, an uninterruptable power supply, a computer monitor, a bass amplifier, a wooden trim desk and cabinet, along with an assortment of kitchen utensils, all of which are property of the complainant.

As a result of some disquiet regarding the difficulty faced by officers in locating the accused, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey inquired whether Francis would be readily found if granted bail.
"You could hide in your community and the British couldn't find you, so 10 chances to one the red seam police couldn't find you," Pusey remarked.
Further deliberating over granting bail to the accused, Pusey asked Francis if he had been in trouble with the law prior.
"Marijuana of course, that's all," Francis replied.
Subsequently, the RM granted the accused man $50,000 bail with one surety. He was ordered to return to court on July 31. A fingerprint order was also made.
