Nine months in prison was the sentence handed down to Warren Domer after he pleaded guilty to beating his child's mother with a machete and chopping her new man.
Domer was sentenced in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday.
Allegations are that on June 29, 2013, the accused went to look for his child's mother when he saw her new man and chopped him several times.
In a second incident, it is alleged that on June 14, the accused used a machete to hit the female complainant several times causing injuries to her body.
Domer who has been charged with unlawful wounding and assault occasioning bodily harm was sentenced to nine months in prison on charge.
The sentences are to run concurrently.
