A woman and her family were left terrified recently when their car was pelted with large stones while they were travelling on the Vineyards Toll Road, St Catherine.
The incident happened two weeks ago at minutes to 12 a.m. The passengers of the vehicles were reportedly heading back to Kingston following a funeral in St Elizabeth.
The woman told THE STAR that a large stone was thrown into the vehicle's windshield, damaging it as well as the dashboard.
When the vehicle stopped, two men, one armed with a gun, came out and tried to rob her and the other three occupants of the vehicle.
"The man with the gun asked, "What can you do for us?" They then started to search the vehicle. "How can a person think of doing that?" she asked during a recent interview.

THE STAR was told that the criminals were deterred after the woman started to 'get in spirit'. A wrecker was later called in to tow the vehicle to the Ferry Police Station.
When contacted an officer at the Ferry Police Station said that the police have been patrolling the area where the incident occurred. He said that they have recognised that it is a hotspot based on reports received.
He said they are aware that there are times unscrupulous persons throw stones at vehicles in an attempt to rob the unsuspecting individuals.
The officer stated that he will be making recommendations to the National Road Operating and Construction Company, which manages the highway, to have the fencing fixed.
Kim Chin-Shue, public relations director at Advertising and Marketing Limited, which does public ralations for TransJamaican Highway, said that she was unable to provide comment on the issue.
