Woman charged with forgery


A woman who is accused of issuing fake documents to the British High Commision during her visa application process is scheduled to face the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday, April 15.


Charged with forgery and uttering forged document is 46-year-old Millicent Maragh of Sand Hills Bay, Hellshire.


She was arrested on April 1. Allegations are that on Thursday, March 18, the accused attended the British High Commission's Visa Application Centre and submitted all the relevant documentation, including a letter from a local bank dated February 19, in the name Millicent Maragh.


Checks were later made at the bank to verify the authenticity of the letter, and it was discovered that the letter was a forged document.


She was charged by detectives from the Area One Fraud Squad.
