The St Catherine south police have taken another illegal gun off the streets, following the interception of a bus in Portmore yesterday.
Reports are that about 1 p.m, a Toyota Coaster bus laden with passengers was stopped along the Hellshire main road.
During a search of the vehicle, which was chartered, a 9mm pistol was discovered.
The bus has since been seized and investigations are ongoing. Meanwhile, the police said it is protocol that the vehicle be seized until the gun owner is identified.
Up to a press time, the vehicle was still at the Portmore Police Station in St Catherine.
A visit to the division revealed visible police presence throughout.
