Vivian Valentine Vernon, the man charged with death of a seven-year-old, did not appear in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday due to the failure of the police to submit the file.
Vernon, 37-year-old bus conductor, otherwise called 'Baboo' and 'Outlaw', is charged with the death of Kalisha Cousins of Little Lane, Central Village.
Cousins, who attended the Waterford Primary School in Portmore, St Catherine, went missing on November 5, 2014.
A report was made to the police and her body was found near the Dyke Road.
Investigation led to the arrest of Vernon on November 9. He was charged last Friday.
In addition to the murder, he is facing the additional charges of arson, larceny and assault occasioning grievious bodily harm.
These charges were said to have been committed when he stabbed and lit the house of an aunt of the deceased in August.
Checks made revealed that the matter would be mentioned later today or tomorrow.
