Stolen cigarettes found in Trench Town


The police unearthed a large quantity of illegal cigarettes in Trench Town, Kingston, that were apparently stolen during a robbery last week in the vicinity of Oxford Mall.


THE STAR understands that the intelligence driven operation began late Monday evening and lasted until early yesterday morning.


No one was arrested in relation to the find in Trench Town.


Our news team gathered that the police, while conducting their investigation on the previous robbery, went to an address on Septimus Street in Trench Town and found the illegal cigarettes.


According to the police investigators, six people were arrested in relation to last week's robbery of phonecards, cigarettes and other items valued over $3 million, which were removed from the wholesale establishment.


The West Kingston police said their investigation into both matters are ongoing.
