Three of four St Catherine residents who pleaded guilty with the theft of chickens valued at $60,000 were remanded when they appeared in the Linstead Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.

Those remanded are Andre Allen, Leroy Walford and Travoy Lawrence, while Trishana Hamilton had her bail extended.

When the matter was mentioned, the three men who were on bail all plead guilty to simple larceny. Resident Magistrate Natalee Brooks then ordered them remanded for sentencing on October 8.

Clerk of Court Venice Murray, outlined that on August 21, 2014, the three accused stole a quantity of chickens from the complainant.

They took it to Hamilton and sold her. Some were plucked and bagged before the police caught up with them.

An investigation was launched which resulted in the men being charged with larceny and Hamilton being charged with receiving stolen property. Hamilton is to be tried on May 21 next year .
