The opening of the St Catherine Circuit Court on Wednesday was again dominated by sexual offences.
It was revealed that there are 156 cases of sex-related crimes with 115 carrying over from the last circuit.
The next highest number of offences set for trial is murder, which accounted for 21 cases.
Among the cases to be tried is that of Sean Coffie and Chevina Allen charged with the murder of Sasha-Gaye Coffie.
Allegations are that Coffie who was seven months pregnant was shot and killed on November 25, 2013, while on her way to work.
Investigations by the St Catherine Major Investigation Task Force resulted in Allen and Coffie being charged.
The matter is scheduled to be heard on Monday February 9, 2015.
The presiding judge is Justice Bertram Morrison, who asked that the private bar and police work together for the circuit to run smoothly.
