The police are reporting that officers from the Transnational Crime and Narcotics Division (TCND) seized approximately 13 pounds of cocaine valued at $8.4 million at the island's two major airports between December 28, 2014 and January 01, 2015.
In the first incident on December 28, members of the TCND seized approximately two and a half pounds of cocaine at the Sangster International Airport (SIA). Ferron Ford, 29, of Birmingham, England, was arrested and charged for attempting to export the illicit drug.
Allegations are that about 5:30 p.m., Ford was about to board a flight destined to England, when his travelling bag was searched and the drug was found inside it.

On December 31, 2014, the TCND seized another two and a half pounds of cocaine, also at the SIA. One woman, 28-year-old Katerina Ana Schofield of Zurich, Switzerland, was arrested and charged for attempting to export cocaine.
Reports are that Schofield was about to check in on a flight destined to Frankfurt, Germany, when her travelling bag was searched. It is alleged that the cocaine was found in it.
Ford and Schofield are scheduled to appear before the Montego Bay Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.
The other two incidents occurred on January 1, at the Norman Manley International Airport, where an operation was carried out by members of the TCND, which resulted in the arrests of two male British citizens.
Reports are that about 4:45 p.m., both men were about to board a flight destined to London, England, when they were searched, during which three and a half pounds of cocaine were allegedly found in one of the men's luggage. Another four and three fifths pounds is alleged to have been found in the other man's luggage. Their names are being withheld pending further investigations.
