Pit bulls kill toddler, mother hospitalised

A mother has been hospitalised after her two-year-old son was mauled by dogs at his home in St Ann, on Monday morning.

The incident reportedly happened in Cardiff Hall in the parish.

According to a source, the child was reportedly killed by pit bulls .

The child was then rushed to the St Ann's Bay hospital and was later pronounced dead.

Head of the St Ann police, Senior Superintendent Yvonne Martin-Daley, says the information relating to the incident is sketchy.

She said this was due in part to the fact that the mother has been hospitalised and is unable to give the police much information.

According to the senior policewoman, the mother of the child was not present during the attack, but left the child in the presence of someone else.
