'Healer' to face court next month on sex charge

A St Catherine man who allegedly sexually assaulted a female complainant after convincing her that he has 'healing' powers is to return to court next month.

The man, in his 30s, is said to have touched the woman's private area after saying he could cure her sinusitis.

The allegations are that about two years ago, the accused was said to have wrapped his head with a red cloth. He reportedly approached the complainant and told her that he had a message that she needed healing.

The woman was sent to buy several items and was then lured to the accused house.

The accused was said to have touched the woman inappropriately and tried to have sex with her.

She, however, managed to escape and reported the matter to the Ewarton police.

An investigation was launched and he was subsequently charged with indecent assault.

The man is being defended by attorney-at-law Earl Hamilton.
