Charged for killing vehicle's owner

A man who allegedly attempted to sell a policeman a stolen motor vehicle will be sentenced on November 3 after pleading guilty to manslaughter.
Twenty-four-year-old Lincoln Davis, a labourer of Yallahs in St Thomas pleaded guilty to killing Teffrel Rutty a returning resident of Seaforth in the parish in 2010. He is to appear in the Gun Court in Kingston for sentencing.
When he appeared in the Morant Bay RM Court on Thursday, his case was transferred to Kingston for November 3.
Davis was charged on November 15, 2010 for the killing. When he appeared in the Morant Bay RM court earlier this week, he entered a guilty plea on a charge of manslaughter.
Rutty was killed following allegations that he was having an affair with Davis' babymother. The court heard that sometime between October 1 and 31, Davis killed Rutty and dumped his body in a pit at Beacon Hill in the parish.
It was also revealed that Davis attempted to sell Rutty's van to a police officer with the necessary documents. It was then realised that the van was the property of the deceased.
The convict was subsequently in custody when he reportedly confessed to Rutty's murder and then led the police to Beacon Hill where the body was discovered.
