Police on Sunday seized about 121 kilograms of cocaine at the Kingston Wharves. The drug is valued at more than J$100 million, the police said.
The drug, which has an estimated street value of US$1.3 million or more than J$145 million, was discovered inside a shipping container during a routine search operation, the police revealed. The container, police said, originated in Suriname and was destined for China. The narcotics, the lawmen said, was stuffed into black bags and was among a shipment of lumber.
No arrests have been made in the seizure that police described as a major bust.
