A man who allegedly entered a hairdressing salon and stole cash while the operators were having a devotion exercise outside, was dragged before the Corporate Area Residents Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Charged with larceny is Kamaal Wright, who pleaded not guilty to the allegations.
Senior Resident Magistrate Georgianna Fraser asked the accused, "Were you getting your hair done? Were you getting a manicure? Were you getting a Pedicure?" Wright said, "No your honour," to which RM Fraser responded, "so what business did you have there?" His answer was spoken in a soft tone, hardly anyone in the courtroom could hear.
The court was told that $3,000 was stolen from the complainant, who allegedly walked in just in time to see the accused man in action.
Allegations are that when he was held by a mob after the ordeal, he apologised for stealing the money.
While in court, Wright however denied apologising for anything. A fingerprint order was made against him and he is to return to court on September 2.
