A man charged with the murder of a bus conductor was remanded when he appeared in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.

Michael Wright is charged with the murder of Marlon Scarling of Spanish Town, St Catherine.

When Wright appeared before Resident Magistrate Ann-Marie Nembhard, the court was told that another suspect is still being sought.

It was revealed by the clerk of court that if Wright is granted bail he would interfere with the investigation.

The question of the accused safety was also mentioned to RM Nembhard.

As a result, bail was not granted by the RM, who said that the clerk's view was valid.

Allegations are that on June 27, about 9:30 p.m., Scarling was attacked by Wright and another man at Bayside, Portmore, St Catherine.

He was stabbed by the men and later died at hospital from injuries received.

An investigation resulted in Wright being pointed out in an identification parade, which resulted in him being charged with murder.

He is to reappear on October 28 when the matter will again be mentioned.
