Woman pleads not guilty to attempted bribery

A 32-year-old woman who was allegedly caught on tape attempting to bribe her way out of her motor vehicle being seized pleaded not guilty when she appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court last Thursday.

Charged with breach of the Corruption Act is Natalia Delisser of a Kingston 8 address.

It is alleged that on June 21, the accused was stopped along Oliver Road in Kingston for a breach of the Road Traffic Act. While being prosecuted, more breaches were detected, which would have resulted in her vehicle being seized.

Delisser allegedly suggested to the officer that he should make her go with the vehicle and they could 'work something out'. She allegedly insisted that he follow her to the ATM to get money as his payment.

Based on her offer, the detective corporal recorded the conversation on his cellular phone, and the accused was later arrested and charged.

Delisser is to return to court on October 6, during which the tape will be analysed by the Cyber Crimes Unit.
