The police in Cayman have launched a major probe to determine how photographs of the bodies of a Jamaican couple in a suspected murder/suicide were leaked to the public.
According to www.ieyenews.com, three serving fire officers were the subject of a report to the chief fire officer and the chief officer of the Ministry of Home Affairs, following the taking and circulation of photographs of the double death in Bodden Town on February 2.
The Royal Cayman Islands Police Service (RCIPS) has outlined the circumstances of the taking and distribution of the images in a report to the chief officer.
The police enquiry into the circulation of the images continues and the RCIPS is in close liaison with the Director of Public Prosecutions' office who will ultimately decide what, if any offences have been committed in relation to the distribution of the images.
The bodies of Nichelle Anna-Kay Thomas, 21, and Devon Roy Campbell, 39, were found at a house in Bodden Town.
Investigators believe the tragedy stemmed from a domestic dispute.
