No order was made in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's (RM) Court on Wednesday, following a counselling report submitted in a matter in which a man was accused of biting and hitting his girlfriend.
Charged with assault occasioning bodily harm is Ryan Deperalto.
The court heard that on the day of the incident, Deperalto and his girlfriend were involved in a dispute and during the altercation, Deperalto hit and bit the complainant in the upper back.
Senior RM Judith Pusey made the no order ruling after sternly warning the accused. She told him that persons would always begrudge a good relationship and that might have been what his relative attempted to do - and succeeded.
She further told both parties that they should not be too quick to distrust each other.
In parting, the RM told them that she hoped the gulf between them could be bridged.
