Residents take action after ... COMMUNITY CENTRE TURNS SEX SHOP

Crystal Harrison, Staff Reporter

Residents of a St Catherine gated neighbourhood recently had to take matters into their own hands to deter idlers from smoking marijuana and having sex in their community centre, The Star understands.

Reports are that residents started hearing words of lewd behaviour and started noticing that several of the windows to the centre were broken.

It was reported that the matter was brought up in community meetings and security measures were put in place. Gas oil has been used to plaster concrete steps to the centre to prevent marijuana smokers from lingering.

"I am not sure if the matter was reported to the police, but those things were happening over a period of time," a resident from the community said.

Another resident said,"The idlers were congregating on the steps so they have poured gas oil on the steps to prevent the loitering. The windows that were damaged have been replaced," the resident said.

Meanwhile, when the property manager was contacted he refused to speak to The Star.

The police told our news team that they have not received any reports about the matter.
