Dancehall/Reggae artiste, Khago, is warning other entertainers to be vigilant about the security of their identity on social networking sites, after falling prey to scammers on Facebook.
Khago told THE STAR that it was brought to his attention that unscrupulous persons have created Facebook pages under the pretence that they were being operated by him and have collected monies from promoters on his behalf for show bookings.
"It's been going on for a while, but by touring now promoters are saying that dem send money to people all the time for shows around di world, but I don't know anything about it," he said.
Although he's unable to provide an exact figure of the amount of money he has lost, Khago revealed to THE STAR that to his knowledge he has lost close to one million dollars due to the scam.
The artiste is imploring other entertainers to be wary of these scammers and to ensure that their fans are made aware of their official Facebook pages.
Khago's official Facebook pages are 'Khago Bazzle' and 'Khago Real Page' and he can be reached through his manager Flex at (876)-378-1549 and (876) 867-9132 for bookings.
Despite his misfortune however, Khago told THE STAR that he recently returned from tour and is ready for action this summer.
Khago fans can listen out for his new singles Hold It Down, Love Me Like This and Fire.
