The assault case against Dr Oneil Ankle, principal of the Jonathan Grant High School, is to be tried in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on September 26, 2014.
When the matter came up for mention on Tuesday the date was arrived at by the Crown and the defence. It was understood that Ankle's attorney, Jacqueline Samuels-Brown, was not available as she was involved in another matter elsewhere.
The allegation is that in September 2012, the complainant, a video cameraman, went on to the Jonathan Grant High School compound to video students who were locked out due to the wearing of short uniforms.
Ankle reportedly approached him and ordered him from the compound. The accused is said to have pushed the cameraman. The complainant reportedly suffered bruises to his upper body and a lens of his camera was also damaged in the process.
The complainant sought medical attention and made a subsequent report to the police.
An investigation was launched which resulted in the accused being summoned to court.
Ankle has made numerous court appearances and maintains his innocence throughout.
Lancelot Clarke Jr is watching proceedings on behalf of the complainant.
