A man was fined $10,000 or six months in prison yesterday in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court for obtaining electricity unlawfully.
Charged with extracting electricity is Michael Williams.
He pleaded guilty to the offence.
Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey asked the accused man how long he had been stealing electricity.
He said, "Is not my place your honour, a mi sister. I was just staying there."
Williams was subsequently fined.
