The teacher who is charged with shooting and injuring his wife faced more trouble when he appeared in court on a charge of being in possession of child pornography.
The accused, Sean Coffie, was subsequently granted bail in the sum of $1,000,000 following a lengthy bail application by his attorney Patrick Peterkin.
The lawyer told the court that his client was a Christian and despite his current situation, he has a steady place of abode, and will attend court to vindicate himself of the charges.
granted bail
Resident Magistrate Marcia Dunbar-Green then granted bail on condition that he be kept away from children and do not interfere with any Crown witness in the matter. He is expected to reappear in court on May 5 when the matter will again be mentioned.
Allegations are that while Coffie was in police custody, a phone that was taken from him was checked by investigators and found to contain two pictures showing the private area of an underage female.
The police subsequently charged him.
