An ex-policeman was found dead with his throat slashed at his home in Cornwall Courts, St James, early yesterday, THE WEEKEND STARunderstands.
The dead man has been identified as Kirk Palmer, formerly attached to the Freeport Police Station in Montego Bay in the parish.
The police's Corporate Communications Unit's liaison officer for St James, Sergeant Peter Salkey, said the police were summoned to Palmer's house yesterday morning and upon arrival, his body was found in a pool of blood.
THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that Palmer's body had what appeared to be either machete or knife wounds to the throat.
According to residents in the area, Palmer who reportedly had very few friends, was last seen alive about 11 p.m. on Wednesday.
The Montego Bay police are investigating.
