DUPPY AT TIVOLI POLICE POST? Sources say former Presidential Click office haunted - Cops laugh at the claim

Crystal Harrison & André Williams, Staff Reporters

Word has been rapidly spreading in west Kingston that the Tivoli Gardens Police Post, formerly the seat of power for Christopher 'Dudus' Coke, maybe haunted by evil spirits.

Once called the Presidential Click office, the space converted to the police post was previously the headquarters of Coke, who is now serving a 23-year prison sentence in the United States for racketeering, conspiracy and conspiracy to commit assault in aid of racketeering.

However, when our news team visited the police post this week, officers were reluctant to speak about it and laughed for an extended time before saying anything.

"Since we have been here, we hear tings, all kind of things, but the police not in the duppy business," one of the police officers finally said.

haunted

The officers, who didn't seem perturbed by the idea of the post being a haunted place, tried to downplay the matter, but one of the lawmen told THE STAR that during the reconstruction of the space, it was said that two of the workmen were knocked out by ghosts.

When THE STAR visited the community, one male resident said; "A di police dem mek duppy enuh. What I can tell you about is a woman who live just metres away from the police post who tell me dat she had to run out of her house the other night because of duppy. Di lady said that she couldn't sleep, she had to sleep outside."

One woman from the community was also quick to point out that: "A our duppy. Dem nah trouble we, a di police dem fi trouble."
