Child operates car that is manual transmission

Astounding film footage of a joyriding nine-year-old girl driving a motor vehicle has surfaced online, leaving several viewers in awe at the child's capabilities. The almost five-minute-long video posted to a popular local Facebook page, shows scenes of the young girl perched on the car seat headrest, as she virtually struggles to see over the vehicle's dashboard.
At the beginning of the tape, the child wastes no time as she takes instructions, before setting off on what appears to be a thoroughfare.
"Take time, watch di hole!" a man, who is presumably the child's father, utters as the youngster shifted between first and second gears.
"Good change," the man says, referring to the gears, lauding the girl's prowess. The attentive driver appeared to be no rookie, as she exemplified a full understanding of how to operate the vehicle's manual transmission.
So relaxed was the child, that she even spared a moment to honk, say "hi", and even wave at a passerby in the street.
"Take yu time," the girl's father reminds her.
The two even shared casual conversation about a motor vehicle as they bonded. By the video's end, both occupants of the vehicle appeared to arrive safely at their destination as the child engaged the vehicle's emergency brake.
The video has received over 1,100 shares and more than 18,00 views on Facebook, with many viewers commenting in amusement at the girl's competence.
"Little girl, thank God for your bravery. You so cool, calm, and collective. You do better than I do. Dad, you're a trophy dad! Hats off to you teaching your daughter to drive at 9, awesome," a viewer commented.
Another added: "Well, if something happen to her dad or mom, God forbid, you know she can always drive them to safety nice."
However, others were not in the least amused at what they deem a reckless act on the part of the adult passenger filming the spectacle.
"This is dangerous. Should never happen. Nothing wrong for a child behind the wheel of a moving car? It all amusing now until when something happen, then it's too late," said a seemingly bothered commenter.
Meanwhile, while many remained amused, according to Traffic Division police personnel, the adult in the matter could face penalties for an array of traffic offences committed as a result of the occurrence.
"The child would not be covered driving a motor vehicle in terms of insurance, so that would be the charge that the adult would have to face. She would not be in possession of a drivers' licence, so that would be another charge against the adult," the representative said.
