Fire destroys sections of Liberty Hill Primary

Students at the Liberty Hill Primary School, located near Brown's Town, St Ann, were greatly affected after fire destroyed sections of the institution on Monday.

Information reaching our news desk is that shortly after 2 a.m., fire was seen coming from the school and the police and the fire department were alerted.

Reports are that when the firemen arrived on the scene, they saw a building which housed administrative offices, the library and grades four to six classrooms, engulfed in flames.

THE STAR gathered that another building, which houses grades one to three, was also damaged.

A representative from the school's administration told THE STAR that alternative arrangements were being made for the students.
