A man accused of stealing $1.25 million worth of scrap metal was granted bail in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
Garnett McLaughlin, a security guard, is charged with simple larceny. He pleaded not guilty to the offence.
The Crown alleged that McLaughlin made off with the pieces of scrap metal from the complainant's property.
Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey granted the accused man bail in the sum of $150,000 with surety. He was ordered to surrender his travel documents, and to return to court on April 25 for trial. He was also cautioned not to be seen close to any scrap metal trading entities.
