China Harbour Engineering Company (CHEC) is looking to find a safer way on how salaries are paid out to individuals on work sites following the robbery and murder of four men in Bog Walk, St Catherine, on Sunday afternoon.
The four men, identified as Craig Christopher Harris, 29; Kirk Foote, 33; Carlton Scott, 43; and Courtney Corbourn, 42, who was a community liaison with CHEC, were ambushed by armed thugs with high-powered weapons and shot dead in Bower's Hill district in St Catherine.
"We're going to look at a safer way for the benefit of the company on how salaries are paid and not be encouraged to make cash payments," regional communications manager of CHEC, Jennifer Armond, said.
"The police have assisted us in the past, but this time, they [four men] decided to venture out on their own," she continued.
Added to this, Armond pointed out discussions are being held with the Government and the Police Commissioner for the resumption of work at the North/South Highway site after threats were made by unknown persons to halt work recently.
