In the first incident, the police said a .38 revolver was seized on the Grove Place main road in Manchester about 7:20 a.m. on Saturday. It was found along with four 9-millimetre cartridges and three .38 rounds of ammunition.
The police said the recovery was made while carrying out investigations at the scene of a collision. The firearm was found in the vehicle of one of the drivers involved in the accident. He was taken to hospital and admitted under police guard.

About 12:05 a.m. yesterday, the Montego Bay police seized a Witness .45 pistol with a magazine containing nine 9-millimetre cartridges. Reports said the police were on patrol on Corinaldi Avenue in St James, when the driver of a motor car with one passenger aboard was searched. The vehicle was also searched and a firearm was reportedly found in a black bag. The driver was arrested.
A few hours later, officers attached to the Spanish Town police seized one Ruger .223 rifle and ten 5.56 rounds of ammunition on Corletts Road. No one was arrested.
And about 8:40 a.m., the Old Harbour police also in St Catherine seized a 12-gauge shotgun and nine 12-gauge cartridges while on an operation on Cedar Drive in the town.
The police said premises were searched and a firearm was found on the back seat of a van parked at one premises. One man was arrested.
The identities of the persons arrested are being withheld pending further investigations.
