Woman allegedly killed by common-law husband

A woman is now dead and her common-law husband in custody after she was killed yesterday morning.


Lorraine Francis, 32, was fatally stabbed in the May Pen bus park, Clarendon.


Police reports are that the woman, who is a teacher who works with the correctional services at the Rio Cobre Juvenile Centre, was about to board a bus to work about 7:30 a.m when she was approached by a man who stabbed her once in the neck.


She was rushed to the May Pen Hospital where she was pronounced dead.


Her comman-law husband who is a veterinarian is now in custody.
