Members of the St Catherine North Major Investigation Task Force have launched a probe into the killing of a couple yesterday in Spanish Town.
Those killed have been identified as Kevin Brown and a woman known only as 'Natty', both of Irish Pen in St Catherine.
The police said they were shot and killed by unknown assailants while in bed.
Reports are that about 1:30 a.m., residents of a section of the community heard explosions and summoned the police.
Upon the arrival of investigators, the bloodied bodies of the common-law couple were seen on the bed.
Checks revealed the bodies were riddled with what appeared to be gunshot wounds.
It was observed that a door to the one-room board-structure dwelling was kicked off.
The police are yet to establish a motive for the killing.
