Charged with simple larceny and obtaining credit by fraud is 42-year-old mason John Marshall of a Lower York, Seaforth, St Thomas, address.

He was reportedly drinking inside the bar for a few hours. During that time, it is said that the complainant left briefly to use the restroom. When she returned, she reportedly witnessed her boss chasing Marshall. She was then informed that the accused man was seen by her boss stealing a sum of money as well as a mobile phone. It is said that the accused took the phone and money from a box that was stashed underneath the bar counter.
The man is alleged to have made off with a Samsung Galaxy S3 mobile phone valued at $60,000, rent money in the sum of $16,000, and $3,000, the day's bar sales. It is said the accused ordered a total of $3,200 worth of liquor in which he did not pay for before making his hasty getaway.
It is believed that the accused man was taken to the Cross Roads Police Station and charged for the offences thereafter.
Subsequently, Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey granted Marshall bail in the sum of $20,000 with surety. He is to return to court on September 9.
