Investigations by the Ocho Rios Criminal Investigations Bureau (CIB) have lead detectives to a man in Buckfield, Ocho Rios in St Ann, accused of murdering his common-law wife.

Reports from the Ocho Rios CIB are that Okieff Davey, 35, of Almond Road in Buckfield, was on Wednesday charged with the murder of 18-year-old Jessica McLarthy of the same address.

Following questioning by detectives, Davey reportedly led the police to a shallow grave in Great Pond, Ocho Rios, where the remains of a woman believed to be McLarthy were found.

The accused man was subsequently arrested and charged. He is currently in police custody.

It is believed that Davey reported McLarthy missing on April 27.

The two are said to have a one-year-old child together.

Meanwhile, the Ocho Rios police are awaiting the results from a post-mortem report to determine the victim's cause of death.

Investigations continue.
