Despite the increased rainfall across the island, the Government is indicating that it is not yet ready to remove the prohibition placed on water usage at the height of the dry spell this summer.
On instructions from the Government, the National Water Commission issued the prohibition notice in July, the same month officials said Jamaica's water situation was nearing a crisis.
Under the prohibition notice, persons could find themselves in trouble for using water to wash vehicles, water lawns and fill swimming pools, among other activities.
To date, there have been no reports of anyone being prosecuted.
Water Minister Robert Pickersgill says even though one of the main water sources in the Corporate Area is full, it does not mean there is sufficient water.
