A jealous husband who is accused of sending a number of threatening text messages to his wife following her alleged infidelity, was further remanded in custody when he appeared before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday.

Allegations are that over a period of time, the accused man, Dwayne Johnson, and the complainant, who is his wife, were suffering a number of marital issues, which reportedly spurred him to send a number of intimidating messages to her, threatening to kill her without leaving a trace.

"If it pleases the court," Johnson started. "My wife is a lady that don't listen. She want this guy from when she was going to college. She went outside of the relationship and I got an STD."

A seemingly dejected Johnson continued to air his marital conflicts, to which Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey did not appear to be particularly interested in hearing.

"The time you take and running around you can come home and look after the children. She tell the children that I neglect them for another woman," Johnson continued, recalling a conversation he had with the complainant. "And I said to her, if you don't stop, I'm going to put a permanent end to you."

"You sure you of sound mind?" asked RM Pusey. "Why you a text text her and a tell her say you a go kill her and all kinds of things?"

"This is my way of telling her that I'm still hurting," the accused replied.

"I'm not even going to think of bail until you calm down. There's this little thing named self-righteousness yu nuh? All of us have it. We always think that we're right," RM Pusey stated.

Subsequently, the sitting magistrate ordered the accused man further remanded in custody. His next scheduled court date is September 8, pending a mention hearing.
