A grave robber who was caught stealing handles from caskets in a cemetery was not only locked in a sepulchre by the men who caught him, but was recently sentenced for the crime.
The man, who was released from the sepulchre by the police, had to face the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.
The accused, Kemar Campbell, was charged with simple larceny.
Allegations are that on April 25, at 10:15 a.m., the accused was seen by a man in the May Pen Cemetery on Spanish Town Road, Kingston. He was said to have a rice bag containing 30 handles from caskets.
The court heard that Campbell was beaten by citizens. Yesterday, he was sentenced to three months' imprisonment.
