Cops find rifle in freezer

Two men are now in custody after police discovered a dismantled rifle hidden inside a freezer at premises they occupied.

The police report that a team of officers attached to the Organised Crime Investigation and the St Andrew South divisions were yesterday conducting an operation on Malhotra Road, Kingston 11, about 2 a.m. when they searched a house.

During the search, a dismantled SK rifle and a magazine were found in a knapsack, which were hidden in the freezer.

The two men were subsequently taken into custody in relation to the discovery; however, their identities are being withheld pending further investigations, the police say.
