Male students stabbed at Lacovia High

André Williams, STAR Writer

At least two Lacovia High School students were rushed to hospital for emergency treatment yesterday following an alleged knife attack carried out by a group of men, reportedly on the school compound, THE WEEKEND STAR understands.

Our news desk has been informed that four suspects believed to have been involved in the fracas were held and are being kept in police custody for questioning.

Reports are that the alleged attackers went to the St Elizabeth-based institution and attacked and stabbed the two male students.

The reason behind the attack is unknown, however, the incident reportedly occurred in full view of others.

THE WEEKEND STAR gathered that during an attempt to vacate the area, a police team intercepted the getaway car and accosted the four men on board who fit the description of the suspects.

These men are reportedly from New Market in the parish.

Up to news time, checks by THE WEEKEND STAR revealed the students were still being treated at the Black River Hospital.

Efforts to speak with a representative from the school proved futile. Investigation is ongoing.
