Three Jamaicans being held in a Haitian prison after being picked up in a raid will know their fate shortly.
The detainees were part of a trip led by a St Catherine seafood businessman to the French territory on March 4.
According to the businessman, after consulting with local Haitian authorities of his intentions to do business in that country, contact with a Haitian businessman was made.
He said while in the island, three of his men were detained by Haitian police and United States troops on suspicion of illegal narcotics.
"During the raid, they picked up some Jamaicans. However, these three guys had passports and logbooks. They were brought to Port-au-Prince and transported to a prison," he said.
A Haitian attorney retained in the case, confirmed that the men have been detained and they were being held on suspicion of illegal narcotics and the trafficking of persons by boat.
He said the men, who return to court today, pleaded not guilty, and the judge has asked them to be patient.
"Witnesses will (today) come to testify that the Jamaicans are innocent. After that the judge will make a decision, so we are waiting on the decision to know what will be the end of the case," the attorney stated.
