The Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) has issued an immediate recall for a batch of wall and standing fans that were imported under the brand name JSW.
The BSJ says the fans, which bear the model numbers JF-87; JF822; JF-88; JF-865FR; JWF-86 are safety hazards.
The regulatory agency says during tests, the fans burnt severely because of the absence of a thermal fuse to regulate the heat generated while it is in operation.
Persons who have purchased any of the models listed by the BSJ are being urged to stop using them immediately and return them to the point of purchase.
And the BSJ says customers who have experienced any adverse reactions should immediately contact the Consumer Affairs Commission.
