A $5,000 fine or six months in prison was Rodney Fisher's sentence when he appeared in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Thursday for robbery.
Fisher who told the court that he is homeless and lives on the street is alleged to have used a knife to rob a man of $1,500.
The court heard that he was chased and held by cops after the incident.
"We both live on the street Your Honour. I sell him some clothes that couldn't fit me and I told him to give me $50 out of what him owe me. Your Honour, I am begging for some leniency because a tru embarrassment why I don't go home," the accused man said.
Senior Resident Magistrate Judith Pusey who said Fisher's face seemed familiar to her courtroom commented about his raggedy appearance.
"The last time I saw you, you didn't look this way. You mash up yourself man," RM Pusey said before Fisher admitted to taking drugs.
