Three on murder rap gets bail

Three of four men charged with the murders of two persons in St Catherine, were granted bail in the sum $1,000,000 when they appeared in the Gun Court on Thursday.

Those given bail were Andre Fearon, Dwayne Officer and Carlton Mills, all of St Catherine addresses.

When the matter came up before Justice Gloria Smith, successful bail applications were made by attorneys-at-law Vincent Wellesley, Lancelot Clarke Jr and Carlton Collman. The fourth accused man, Kevin Lee, was remanded and his lawyer was absent.

Stay home

The three men were granted bail on condition that they stay home between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. and report to the police daily for the duration of their bails.

Allegations are that in September, men dressed in jeans pant and 'hoodies' over their heads, went to an area outside Linstead, St Catherine.

They are said to have kicked open a door and shot and killed Mikyala Jummp 13 and her brother 26-year-old Dwayne Francis. The police say their investigation later led to the arrest and charge of the four men.

They are scheduled to reappear in September when the matter will again be mentioned.
