Soldier on fraud rap gets bail extension

Thirty-one-year-old soldier Marlon Davidson yesterday had his bail extended when he appeared in the Corporate Area Criminal Court.

In a probe which has identified an emerging trend, facilitators conspire to make banking cards available to be used for the purpose of defrauding banks of large sums of money. Davidson, along with 31-year-old engineer Marvin Gray, was arrested and charged last year for Conspiracy to Defraud.

It is alleged that in September of 2014, Davis availed his banking card to be used by Gray for the purpose of defrauding the National Commercial Bank of $271,000.

Court appearance

A report was made to MOCA, resulting in the arrest of both men. Gray was remanded in custody until the next court appearance.

They are scheduled to reappear in court on Tuesday, February 17. The probe continues.
