A St Catherine-based wrecker operator accused of collecting money from a motorist to release a seized vehicle was charged by the Major Organised Crime and Anti-Corruption Agency (MOCA) yesterday.

The charges arose from an incident on Tuesday in Ewarton.
traffic tickets
It is reported that a soldier's Nissan motor car was seized after it was seen operating contrary to the term of its licence. The driver was ticketed and the accused given the vehicle to take to the pound.
It is reported that on the way Calloo was given $15,000 to release the vehicle. He reportedly made arrangement for a further $7,000 to be paid to get rid of the traffic tickets. It is said that the $7,000 was placed in an envelope along with the tickets and given to a person at a gas station in Ewarton.
Members of the MOCA who were in-waiting swooped down on the man and apprehended him.
The accused faces the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Tuesday.
