A St Catherine man who pleaded guilty to the theft of gas from Industrial Gas Limited (IGL) was sentenced to 80 hours community service in the Spanish Town Resident Magistrate's Court on Wednesday.
He is Ramone Parson, a labourer from Spanish Town.
A successful application was made by attorney-at-law Lancelot Clarke Jr for a non-custodial sentence.
Clarke told Resident Magistrate Simone Maddix that the social-enquiry report said his client is a good person who deserves a second chance.
Parson was charged by the police after it was reported that he stole gas valued at $10,000 from IGL, while being employed as a driver.
