Woman charged for fraudulent conversion

A woman who is accused of taking money for an alleged land transaction was hauled before the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court yesterday.

Charged with fraudulent conversion is Sherine Green-Tracey, who was fingerprinted.

The Crown alleges that the accused claimed to be an employee of the National Land Agency and reportedly told the complainant she could secure government lands on her behalf.

The complainant believed her and the sum of $2.8 million was paid over to her in instalments. Certain documentation was also to be handed over to the complainant; but when these were not forthcoming, the complainant became suspicious.

According to the attorney representing the accused, most of the money was repaid.

Green-Tracey is to return to court on March 31.
