A St Lucian native who was found in possession of ganja while on her way back home was remanded in the Corporate Area Resident Magistrate's Court on Friday.
Charged with possession of, dealing in and taking steps preparatory to export ganja and conspiracy is Vanisha Cyril.
The Crown is alleging that the accused arrived at the Norman Manley International Airport and intended to board a Caribbean Airlines flight for St Lucia when she was stopped and her luggage searched.
Five tins with callaloo labels were cut opened and a cylindrical parcel containing vegetable matter was discovered. It weighed 5.2 pounds (2.4kg).
The St Lucian said she was in Jamaica on vacation, staying with a man when on her way home she was asked to deliver the tins with callaloo to the man's brother, who was in Trinidad.
Cyril is due to return to court on February 12, when the case is expected to be mentioned.
